»A reflective range of jazz and folk-inflected blues...Lamdin's production offers a sense of clarity and understated confidence.« Colin Buttimer - BBC Music Reviews
»Absolutely perfect music from Nostalgia 77... this new one’s great.« Jamie Cullum - BBC Radio 2
Bluesy vocals, winds and roaring organ while Golden Morning delights with its softly played snare drums, wood-toned double bass and hushed yet heartfelt vocals are combined to a fresh and incredibly coherent vision of modern British jazz music. The brainchild of UK producer Ben Lamdin, Nostalgia 77, creates a curious amalgam of all sorts of influences – hip-hop based beats fused with dusty old jazz; obscuro funk and psych bits. Aiming for an edgy sound whilst continuing to search for a more personal expression, Nostalgia 77’s influences include free and spiritual jazz as well as 60’s funk and Afro sounds. This sound is a visionary and the life shows of Nostalgia 77 has been attracted many, many music fans all over Europe.
