»...this is a phenomenal album. An instant classic.« Sean Keenan - Trebuchet Magazine

»McCleery's songs echo the hushed magnificence of Nick Drake. Mellifluous melancholy of the highest order.« Rick Pearson - London Evening Standard

Jono McCleery is an upcoming London based singer songwriter. His music is described by critics as the new folk/soul sound of our time. With acoustic guitar and sliding double bass played in a smart, minimal way in a brain teasing time signature, McCleery’s voice can be sad and reassuring in the same sentence. McCleery himself cites his main influences as John Coltrane, Nick Drake, Bill Withers, Jeff Buckley, John Martyn and Nina Simone. Jono Mccleery´s songs are someteime soft, delicate and jazz-influenced but they never fall into any of the obvious traps of cliché along the way. Jono has toured with the likes of Gil Scott Heron, Jamie Woon, Bonobo, Fink, Jose Gonzales, Little Dragon and the Portico Quartet.
